Episode 2 Featuring WSATVA and BLM on trails radio
The second episode of GVTA trails radio, United on Trails, was Wednesday. The show featured Ken Sanders of the Western Slope ATV Association and Chris Pipkin a Recreation Planner with the BLM.
Western Slope ATV Association
Ken introduced lots of information about the WSATVA and it was impressive to hear about the club’s volunteer trail efforts, all the hours they accumulate in a years worth of trail projects, how much money they raise and how the club has received lots of national recognition. If you are interested in learning more about the club, becoming a member or joining the club on one of their upcoming trail work projects, you can find more information on the WSATVA website.
Grand Junction Field Office of the BLM
Chris provided us with some more information about the dry trail conditions and the impact of the Stage 2 Fire Restrictions as it applies to trail users. The entire area is under significant drought conditions and the fire threat is very high. Please make sure you are following all the restrictions carefully including using a properly installed spark arrestor on you OHV vehicle, not driving or parking your vehicle near any vegetation and definitely not smoking outside.
