Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area Resource Advisory Council to meet
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area Advisory Council (DENCA RAC) will meet on Oct. 24 and will reschedule a canceled meeting planned for Oct. 22.
A replacement date for the canceled Oct. 22 meeting is yet to be determined. The Oct. 24 meeting will be held from 3-6 p.m. in Grand Junction at the Whitman Education Center on the corner of 4th and Ute.
The Advisory Council is composed of ten members of the public who represent various communities and interests throughout the surrounding three-county area. They meet often assist the BLM in its management of the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area.
Congress designated the 210,000 acre National Conservation Area and Wilderness in 2009 in recognition of their unique and important resources, including geological, paleontological, archaeological, historical, cultural, wildlife, riparian, recreational, scientific, educational, natural, scenic and wilderness values, as well as the area’s water resources.

- BLM extends Grand Junction RMP comment period
The Bureau of Land Management has extended the public comment period on its Draft Grand Junction Resource Management Plan until June 24, 2013 and has scheduled an additional community meeting to discuss the RMP’s travel management alternatives.
